First Love Church is a beloved, inclusive community where all are welcome and differences are celebrated. Born from a longing for something deeper—and perhaps different—we’ve always been drawn to the margins, where grace often speaks the loudest. We exist to proclaim the good news of God’s radical, boundless love for all people.
Through Scripture, sacraments, art, music, and prayer, we craft worship experiences that invite real encounters with the living Christ. Our desire is to create a sacred space where everyone, regardless of background, story, or identity, can meet God and be transformed by love.
Our Pastors

It was the early '90s in Chicago where we met, fell in love, eloped, and drove off to Bible College with a plan to serve God by loving people. Through the years, we’ve built a life together, becoming parents to five wonderful children and partners in ministry.
In 2000, we took a step of faith and launched First Love Church, not as a job, but as a calling to create a community where everyone could find a place to belong. Over the past 20+ years, our church has grown into something that feels more like a family—a family that constantly evolves, embraces change, but is always rooted in the love that ties us all together. We lead together, preach in the pulpit together, and endeavor to create a space where all voices, gifts, and hearts are equally honored.
